An Augmented Reality Retrospective, 2019-2026
I’m excited to announce my solo exhibition at Johann van Heerden’s Art and Gallery this October.
The Evolving Image brings together over 130 of my augmented reality artworks created from 2019 to the present, using the Artivive App. The exhibition includes works from past exhibitions, alongside new works.
The exhibition traces the development of my AR practice across traditional drawing, painting, mixed media, digitally created artwork and sculpture, combined with 2D animation experienced through augmented reality.
Many of the animations from earlier works have been revisited and updated. While the physical artwork may remain unchanged, its digital counterpart can continue to change and evolve – the idea behind The Evolving Image.
Opening: Sunday, 4 October 2026 at 11:00
Exhibition: 4-25 October 2026
Johann van Heerden’s Art and Gallery
593 Jacqueline Drive, Garsfontein, Pretoria East
I hope you’ll join me and experience the artworks coming to life through augmented reality using the Artivive App.
